Sailed.-Orari (7 a.m.), for Sydney. - NOTICES TO MARINERS. _ In Thursday night's Gazette the following notices to mariners appear;— The Wanganui Harbour Board notifies that on and after October 9, 1911, the white lights at outer ends of moles at the entrance to the Wanganui River will bo replaced by a red light at sea-ward end of caeh mole. Chart?, etc., affected:— .Admiralty Chart No. 2054; "New Zealand Pilot," eighth edition, 1908, Chapter V, page 156; "New Zealand Nautical Almanac," 1911, pages 209 and 316, and plan facing page 208. A now concreto lighthouse has been built on the rock at the end of Tuahine Point, at the water's edge, about 2Coft. to south-east of old light. On and after Monday, October 16. the old light will be discontinued, and a- light of same charactor—viz., a white occulting light, flash showing 2 seconds, followed by an eclipse for 6 seconds—will be shown from the new tower. The height of the light is 53ft. above H.W., and it should be seen from seaward (except when obscured by the mainland and outlying islets) over an arc of 253deg. between the bearings of S. 34 deg. W. round by north to S. 73deg. E., and should be visible for a distance of 13 miles. The light will bo unwatehed, burning acetone acetylene gas. THE HINEMOA. , The Hinemoa landed,.stores at Stephen Island yesterday morning. Repairs to the beacon at.Oka Rock, at tho entrance to Pelorus Bound, were alEp carried out yesterday. The Hinemoa is expected to arrive this evening. Haupiri, 8.5., left Greymouth last night with a cargo of coai for Wellington. Ruru, s.s., was expected to sail from Napier last night for Wellington, via the coast. She is duo hero on Sunday, and will load on Monday for tho East Coast. Mr. C. A. Backstran. mato of the Manaroa, signed off hor articles at 'Wellington yesterday. Mr. Haydon has resigned from tho Wakatu in. sympathy with tho position taken up by the Merchant Service Guild. Mr. Etheridge, mato of the Queen of tho South, signed off last evening. Tho vessel will probably be laid up until after the present troubles. Wakatu, steamer coaster, left for WaSeanui Ust night. On arrival back at Wellington on Sunday tho mate signs off and the vessel is to bo laid up.Mr -,, F - Dewhurst signed off as mate of the Moa, at Wellington yesterday. Navua, Fiji steamer, left Auckland for Wellington on Thursday night. She is due this evening, and, after discharging her fruit consignment, will leave for Westport to load coal for Wellington.
Captain M'Arthur, of tho Maoriland Steamship Company, who has boen to Melbourne on holiday leave, returned to Wellington yesterday.
Mr. R. Hall Joined the Manuka at Melbourne as fourth officer.
On Thursday last the Maoriland Shipping Company's steamer Ennerdale arrived at Huon (Tasmania) from Warrnambool.
