The Admiralty lias invited tenders for three cruisers, seven high-speed special destroyers, and four battleships of tlio King Georgo V class, but with a horso-powei of 29,000. Two of tho battlesliips will bo constructed privately, and the others at Portsmouth and Dcvonpori. Tlio battleships of tlie King George V class oro to have a displacement of 23,000 tons; length, 555 ft.; beam, 89ft.; draught, 271 ft. They will carry ten 13.5 i- guns. Tho horse-power of tiio Orion class is 27,000, and tho "Naval Annual" (jives 31,000 as that of the lung George V ships.
