The Union Steam Ship Company's liner Mahcno made good use of her wireless installation on (he run from Sydney to New Zealand and back recently. On the outward run communication was maintained during the whole of the voyage, and advantage was taken hy passengers of sending radiograms io Australia and Now Zonland. The barque Helen Denny, which arrived at Sydney last week, with about 700,000 ft. of timber consigned to tho Union Box and. P.O. Company, Ltd., left Havelock, Now Zealand, on September 9, and had eouio thrilling incidents on her voyage, having evidently encountered a part of tho NewZealand cyclone. She had variable winds for about a week. Then sho wag overtaken by a- southerly gale, which lasted for three days, together with a heavy cross sea.
