PARLIAMENT BUILDINGS COMPETITION.
Sir,—Most of tho architects have been well advissrt in not competing iirtkis competition, which has been worked contTary to tho rales laid down by the Royal Institute of British Architects. On studying the. designs on exhibition yesterday, the design placed first, in my opinion, will bo very badly lighted; the areas are small, the rooms deep, windows small, the passages will require artificial lighting etc. The principal entrance is a very weak feature of the front elevation, especially the doorway. There are many excellent designs submitted, especial'lv the design placed third, wiiich is tho finest, architecturally, of tho competition, and would not exceed in cost the design placed first.—l am, etc., F.R.1.8-A.
