In connection with tho outbreak of fire on the F.-H.-S. liner Kent, at Auckland, the local agents have been advised that it is not likely to have proved serious to cargo. The only \Vcllington cargo damaged is a small quantity of galvanised iron. The Kent is to arrivo at Wcllincton on Thursday next. WEEK'S SYDNEY BOAI. THE WALKOEE. The Walkure, which is to arrivo to-day from New York, via ports and Aucklaudi will berth at the King's Wharf, and is to discharge 74,000 cases of oil at Wellington. Arahura, cross-Strait packet, arrived at Greymoutb at 6.30 a.m. yesterday, and left again on the return trip to Wellington at 5 p.m.. No word has been received as to tho whorcaboutts of tho schooner Falcon, which left Gisborno on September 20 for Havelock. Sho has probably met adverse winds, and been compelled to Eoek shelter. Mr. J. Urwin, mate of the Manaroa, left tho vessel yesterday morning, and Mr. Gibson mate of tho Kiripaka, signed off on Saturday. Mr. G. F. Meade, chief officer of the Ruapehu, is coming out as chief officer of tab new N.Z.S. Company's steamer Hemuora. Mr. F. L. Rose, late second officer of tho Ruapehu, who remained in London last trip to sit for his examination, has since received notification that ho haa passed for master's certificate.
