ENGLISH TEAM LEAVES LONDON'. By Teleeraph—Press Association—Copyright ' London, September 29. There was a huge crowd at St. Pancras station to. bid farewell to the Marylebono cricketers, ou leaving for their Australian tour. Lord Harris, Lord Hawke, Messrs. Hutchings (Kent), C. B. Fry (Hampshire), Jackson (Yorkshire), LevesonGower (Surrey), C. E. Green (M.C.C.), Mason (Kent), Stoddart (Middlesex), and many other county cricketers, were present. Mrs. Warner (wife of the captain) accompanied the team. Mr. Warner's inner pocket was picked in the crush at 1 St. Pancras, some valuablo papers and the party's tickets being stolen. A diamond-studded watch was 6tolen from Mr. Warner's sister-in-law. A HEAVY TASK. (Rec. October 1, 5.5 p.m.) London, September 30. In toasting tho departing M.C.C. team at St. Pancras station, Lord Harris said he believed that with a littlo luck and good health the Englishmen would be successful, and he hoped they would bring back "tho ashes." Mr. Warner said tho team wias facing a heavy task, as the Australians were particularly strong, and* had great resources I to draw upon.
