Jack Lester, the American, who recently defeated Bill Lang for the heavyweight championship of Australia, lost the title last', night to the negro, Sam M'Vea. Tho pair met in a twenty-round contest at the Stadium, Rushcutter's Bay, and M'Vea proved too clever for his opponent, and gained the verdict on points.
M'Vea is 26 years of age, sft. lOlin. in height, and weighs 2051b. Amongst other fights ho has three times met Jack Johnson, losing twico on points in 20 rounds, and-being knocked out in tho twentieth round of tho third contest. Lester is only twenty years of age. but has nevertheless competed in somo twenty-six contests.
