Whj'te. Weights for the Napier Park races are due on Thursday next. Acceptances for the first day's evenits at tiio Marlborough Racing Club's spring meeting close 011 Friday next. S. licid was on Saturday engaged to riao Bracken and Beacon at the Marlborough Racing Club's meeting.. Cisco, who was successful in the A.J.C. Derby 011 Saturday, . won the Breeders' Plate o/t the same meeting last year. That was his only success as a two-year-old. Counterfeit and Countermine,' who cornpoled at the Wanganui meeting last week, were shipped 1101110 to lliccarton on •Saturday night. Sir Geo. Clifford will have 110 representative at the Hawke's Bay Jockey Club's mooting. S!r. TJighden .has decided "to mate Truco (Grafton—Navarine) and I'erolina (Persimmon—La Carolina) with tho Multiform horse Polymorphous./. These are tho only mares that Polymorphouswill servo this season as ho is to be trained for summer racing. So far nothing definite' has been stated as to wild will ride Bobrikotf at tho Ilawke's Bay meeting, but it is understood that A. Oliver will have tho mount. Consequent upon his moderate form at Avondale, Domino has drifted back in tho New Zealand Cup betting, and ViceAdmiral is now favourite for tho. big two-. milp race at Ricearbon. vT'lo.'Australian Jockey Club's, meetingj will be continued at Randwick to-dciy,.' when tho principal events to., bp decided are fclie Breeders Plate, five furlongs,- for two-year-olds, and tho Metropolitan Handicap, 0110 milo and a half. . ' There can be little doubt that the success of the Auckland jockey, B. Deeley, is due iu a large measure to that horseman's energy and his fondness for assisting in the track gallops. After the Avondale meeting Deeley cajno south to the Jlarton and Wanganui meotings, and besides riding winners ho was attendant on tho tracks of a morning to assist trainers. The Wanganui meeting over, ho loft for Hastings, and after riding at tho Ilawke's Bay meeting he proceeds to Blenheim to ride St. Felix at the Marlborough fixture. After that he comes back to Treiitham, where lie will pilot Sionolino iii tho Wcllesley Stakes. When at horn® Deeley is always'oll the Ellerslio course of a morning to take a mount in the track gallops, hence tho crack horseman is always in capital fornf. Mr. -T. Euckley's tiro coifs, St. Petersburgand Jan, left Porirua for Awapuni 011 Saturday, and yesterday morning H. Telford and W. Young visited the Slanuwahi Club's course to gallop the pair, Tra.iner J. U. Prosper goes on to Awapuni to-day, and will tako Hie horses on to Hastings. Jan is a half-brother (by Cha.rleina.gno II) to Scotty, and is engaged in tho Hastings Stakes. St. Petersburg is to run in the Ilawke's lisiy Guineas. G. Price leaves Awapuni for Hastings this morning, with Sir. Highden's Ermengarde (Charlemagne ll—Watorshoot), a candidate for the Hastings Stokes. Tho meeting between Royal jcotcii and Miscount in the Hawke's Bay Guineas should be interesting. 111 tho Wanganui Guineas Miscount easily beat Royal Scotch, but in turn sutt'ercd defeat at tho hands of Counterfeit, who just headed the Birkenhead colt 011 tho pest. Miscount was railed home without starting on the second day of the meeting, but Roy.il Scotch, who seemed to be improved bv the first day's race, won tho (Jwen Handicap in good style, if this race has worked further improvement in the Royal Artillery colt, he may prove a difficult one for Miscount and tJie others to beat. lilinore, who is one of the candidates remaining in the Hawke's Bay Guineas, is a filly by Sylvia Park from an own sister to Sir Frisco. Tho Feildiug jockey, W. Young, recently purchased a motor cycle, and finds it very useful in travelling to and lrorn the meetings round about his district. On the morning of tho Daimevirke meeting he rods a few gallops 011 the l'cilding track and afterwards journeyed to and from Dannevirke pfcr cycle. After tho first racing at Otaki ho cycled home to I-eildmg and returned for the second day on Slonday morning. As A. Oliver will be engaged at the Napier Park meeting next week, loung will go to Blenheim to ride Kill at tlio Marlborough fixture. 110 F, ol)a,il .V cycle across if Cook btrait did not happen to bo in flio way. • By winning t.lio lliggie Handicap at Wanganui 011 Friday Inst, Boanerges incurred a penalty of 51b. for tlio New Zealand Cup. This will bring his impost for the latter race up to 7st. 101b. Goodwin Park's win at Wanganui will not mean that the son of Svlvia Park will yet have to put up a pcnal'ty for tie New 4calaiid Cup. News from Melbourne records another Failure of the New Zealand-bred Obsono, who failed to act up to his reputation at Epsom on September 20, when ho started favourito for the Flving Handicap. , He had the steadier of lOst. 71b. (minimum 6st, 71b.), and got 110 closor than sixth. It is understood that T. Qitinlivan has abandoned any idea of appealing against his suspension by tho Hawke's Bay Jockey Club. After Sir. E. J. Waifs return from Sydney, Quinlivati will go to Australia for_ a holiday and be present at tho Caullield a»d Flomington meetings. ,T. Slaher is at present in charge of Sir. E. J. Wait's horses. sronotine, winner of the Nursery Handicap at. Avondale, is tvj bo brought lo rrontham lo compete in thn Wellington Stakes. The daughter of Slonciform is , on (ho small side and will probably be more forward than most of her opponent's. She was unlucky in the Avondale Stakes for, after jumping off well, she ran very wide al the bends. On the second day, Deeley got her away smartly and never 1 s'iw anything ol' the other r.mdidaies until after passing tho winning post. As ' F. Slacmanemiii is unablo to make ('lie 1 I rip with tho filly, she will be handed over to W. Danes for the meeting. D. Gordon, an apprentice in J.
