THE LICENSING BILL.
A DISCUSSION IN PARLIAMENT. A discussion on tho administration of (ho Crown Law Office, which took place in the House of Representatives in Committee of Supply yesterday afternoon, developed a desultory commentary regarding the employment of Mr. A. S. Adams, of Duiiedin, to draft tho Licensing Bill of last session. Mr. A. S. Millar said ho understood that Mr. Adams was asked to propare a Bill on tho linos that had born virtually agreed on by tho two parties as tho best solution of a very troublous question. Mr. Hemes remarked that, compared with tho drawing up of the Native Land Act, the drafting of a Licensing Hill would be child's play. It was in bringing Urn contending parties together that Act wna called for. Mr. L. M. Tsi(t (Christchureh North) commended the judgment of the Govcrn'n oiitrustinc the preparation of the Bill to Mr. Adams, who possessed the intimate knowledge of the licensing question to enablo liim to prepare a satisfactory measure.
