•'THE WELLINGTON ASSOCIATION. Tho annual .meeting of tho Wellington Provincial Lawn Tennis Association was held: last eyening. Mr. G. A. Hurley presided. U'.Th'o report' and balance-sheet (particulars of which have been published) wea-o adopted. Mr. A.-Fair, moved; • "That a recommendation be made lo the incoming committee that a sum approximating .£3O, together with a sum ot already on deposit, be .set aside and ear-marked a3 a special fund for grounds. The motion was seconded and had been discussed to some little extent when the chairman, after scanning the rules, decided that the.proposal could not be ac-' cepted at that stage, and in the way put forward. The Pukekoa Club (Mitchelltowu), and tho Terrace find (I'almerston. North) Bowling and Tennis Club were added to the list of affiliated clubs. Pukekoa, which word means Gladhill, has 18 members, and Terraco End 42 members. Officers were elected as follow:—President, Mr. H. M. Gore; vice-presidonts, Messrs. J. G. W. Aitken (Wellington), W. H. P. Barbor (Wellington), E. A. Barton (Feilding), G. N. Goldie (Wellington), A. L Herdman (Wellington), E! Y. Redward (Wellington), W. H. Simcox (Otaki), T. M. Wilford (Wellington), tho Rev. Dean Mlfenna (Slasterton), the Rev. Father Mltenna (Pahiatua) and another from Palmerston North who is to be chosen later; vice-president to N.Z.L.T.A.. Mr. H. 51. Gore; delegates to N.Z.A., Messrs. ,T. W. Barclay, R. St. J. Beere, A. G. Henderson, G. A. Hurley, D. M. Kean, C. A. Lawrence, E. Y. Redward, J. S. Barton, Dr. D. N. Isaacs; hon. sec., Mr. D. Murray Kean; hon. trea.*urer, Mr. J. W. Barclay; hon. auditor, Mr. J. S. Barton; Management Committee, Messrs. R. St. J. Beore, A. G. Henderson, C. A. Jeffrey, C. A. Lawrence, A. Fair, F. A. Lewis, Dr. Isaacs; hon. match secretary, Mr. F. B. Spilshury. Mr. D. M. Kean moved:—"That a metropolitan championship and handicap tournament bo held on tlw Saturday afternoons preceding tho Christmas and, New Year holidays, and that tho interclub competitions bo played after tho New Year holidays." After a long discursion, on amendment was proposed as follows:—"That the inter-club matches should be ployed before and after Now Year, and that the old names should be reverted to." The amendment was carried. The. treasurer stated that he estimated that there would bo a credit balance of jESO.IOs. 3d. on the workings of tho coming season.
