KILMARNOCK BURGHS SEAT. By Telegraph-Press Association-Copyright London, September 27. The by-election for Kilmarnock Burghs, rendered necessary by the death of the late member, Dr. A. R, Rainy (Liberal), resulted as follows;— Mr. William Glynne Gladstono (Liberal) 6923 Sir John Rces (Unionist) 4047 Mv. Thomas M'Kerrell (Labour) ... 2761 Liberal majority over Unionist ... 2276 The Liberal majorities at Kilmarnock Burghs for the List throe elections wero 2525 in 1006, 3236 in January, 1910, aud 3088 in December, 1010. Mr. W. G. Glad-s-tono was born in 1885, aud is a son of the lato Mr. W. W. 11. Gladstone, and a grandson of Mr. William Ewart Gladstone. Sir John Rces wns formerlv well known on tho Liberal side of tho'House' as an authority on Indian affairs, but 110 crossed I lie floor and changed his party shortly before tho last elections.
