WAIFS AND STRAYS 'OF DOGDOM.
(, WHICH ROAM THE CITY. The waifs and strays of dogdom came in for some remark at a meeting of tho Society for tho Prevention of Cruelty to Animals last evening. It was stated that numbers of stray dogs—unowned, unregistered, and ball-starved—wandered about tho city, and formed a possible means for the spread of disease, A member remarked that this .was.really, a matter for tho 'City Couticil-'tn'deal , 'witli;" but tho insptclor observed that, at times, ho had collected some of these animals, and had informed the City Council authorities. Tho latter, however, seldom did anything in the matter. It was finally decided to instruct tho secretary to communicate with the City Council.,
