NORTH ISLAND. MEN CONFER. During the month of March last it was proposed that all the motor-cycle clubs of the Dominion should form" an autocycle union for- New Zealand. A conference of delegates of North Island clubs was held at Palmerston North on Saturday evening, and, after a discussion-in which, the majority present were against the formation of a Dominion union, it was decided to form an auto-cyclo union for the North Islnud merely. The following officers were elected for tho new body (subject to thoir acceptance) :—President, Mr. H. M. Campbell; vice-prosidents, Dr. Reid-Mackay, lan Simpson, H. B. Tucker, and B. W.'Daniel; Executivo Council, Messrs. C. P. Lindgrein (Hawke's Bay M.C.C.), Vartan (South Hawke's Bay M.C.C.I. Kerr (Manawatu M.C.C.), and F. J. Macdonald (N.Z.M.C.C.). Auckland is to bo asked to nominate one of its members to the council and Wanganui is to bo approached for tho same mirpcse. Mr. C. Dare Bridge (lion, secretary N.Z.M.C.C.) was appointed hon. secretary and treasurer of the union, and with Mt. Lindgrein is to draw up rules. For the first year the permanent meeting placo of the council was fixed at Palmerston North, but the official headquarters will bo the place of residence of the secretary.
