OKLAHOMA MAN FOR SYDNEY. Last week Mr. M'lntosh received cabled' information that "Joe" Woodman, Langford's manager, had practically arranged with Carl Morris, tho Oklahoma "white hope," who made, a gallant stand against "Jun" Flynn a fortnight ago, to come to Sydney for the professional boxing carnival timo already started (says the Sydney "Referee"). Morris was anxious to know who he might be asked to meet, awl in response the proprietor of tho Stadium sent the names of Lester, Lanr. M'Vea, and "Jim" Flynn. Woodman's- communication also stated that "Jim" Flynn' was already under way from New York, and Joe Jeanne'tte would soon bo hot foot, in his wake. The whole party will probably be fellowpas'sengers with "Tommy" Burns. "Dan" flynn is another one in tho list. Ho defeated "Jim" Barry reoontly.
THORN AND GRIFFIN SIGN. Frank Thorn and "Charlie" Griffin have signed articles to box in.-Melbourne on or about Octobe-r 19. This will be their third meeting. Wlieu a novice, Griffin fell a rather easy victim to Thorn in Sydney, but when' they subsequently met at the Cyclorama it look Thorn 22 rounds to beat the plucky New Zealander on points. ■ ■
LANG LOOKING FOE LESTEB. "Bill" Lang has deposited .£IOO as forfeit in connection with a challenge to "Jack" Lester for a third for .£ooo a side. Lester has expressed his willingness to bind the match.
