It is not clear whether the Irish, railway strike will spread or collapse. Lord Aber&cn, Lord Liculeniml of Ireland, and Air. Mitchell, representing the Hoard of Trade, arc engaged ia making efforts to scttlo tho dispute. The .War Office is sending to Dublin half a railway corps from Aldnrshot to drivo tho trains. Tho men have been ordered to drive, if necessary, troop and mail trains. Troops have been ordered to prutect Thurles and Ballybrophy. Fivo hundred Belfast railwaymen havo resolved to strike to-day. The directors of the company minimiso the trouble, and declare that their 'passenger service will bo unaffected. Tho Wexford branch of tho Amalgamated Society of Kailwayinen has unanimously condemned the executivo for calling a ;encral strike in Ireland, instead of in tho United Kangddm. London, September 24. Troops are guarding the Cork tunnel at tho Limerick Junction. OTHER LABOUR DISPUTES. PREMIUM BONTJS SYSTEM. . ' London, September 24. Five thousand boilerinakers have unanimously voted for the- abolition of tho premium bonus system. The engineering and shipbuilding trade,? on the North-Kast Coast gave unanimous votes in the same direction, as did tho Combined Smiths,, tho United Coppersmiths, and the Birmingham Shoet-metal Workers. MOUNT LYELL STRIKE. ■ Hobart, September 25. The Mount Lyell smelters have beon closed. There aro over 2000 men idle. T'ho Governor is personally endeavouring to effect a settlement. (Jtec.
