APPALLING DISASTER IN ITALY. VILLAGES BURIED, INHABITANTS PARALYSED BY FEAR MANY LIVES LOST. By Tcleirraph-l'ress Association—Coryricbt Rome, September 22. A violent storm, accompanied by torrential rains, has been experienced at Naples. There have been severe inundations. Numerous buildings at Resina have boon swept away. Six bodies havo been recovered, and many are missing. Fifty persons aro reported to bo dead.
Kjvors of mud aro (lowing down the slopes of Mount Vesu^ns. Many families aro imprisoned iu their homes. Rescue parties have left Naples.
