LAND TAX INCREASE. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright . Adelaide, September 22. In his Budget the Treasurer stated that during the last nine years tho .surpluses amounted to -£1,897,000. Tho past year showed a record for produce value handled by the railways—.£sll,ooo. Tho estimated revenue for the current year was .£-1,311,512, and the expenditure ■£4,302,720. Tho Treasurer intimated that tho Government intended to raise tho land tax by a halfpenny in the ,£, raise the exemption in regard to income tax to .£3OO, alxxlisli tho tax on incomes derived from land by primary producers, remit tho receipt tax, and reduce railway freights on produce.
