By TelCErapli—Press Association—Copyright (Rcc. September 23, 0.30 a.m.) Ottawa, September 22. The elections for tho Canadian Parliament have resulted in the complete defeat of Sir Wilfrid Laurier's Liberal Ministry, which has been in office since 1890. . A number of results are still to come from different constituencies, but the latest available figures are as follow:— Conservatives - 113 Independents - 12 Liberals 88 All the members of the Ministry except the Prime Minister (Sir Wilfrid Laurier), the Minister for tho Intorior (Mr. Oliver), and the Minister for Public Works (Mr. Pugsley) have bean dofeated." - Sweeping Conservative gains have been reoorded through the country, and British Columbia has retumed Conservatives for all the. seats in tho province. Twelve Nationalists were returned in Quebec, Sir Wilfrid Laurier's homo province, which has been, a Liberal stronghold in tho past. Mr. Templeman, Minister for Mines, was defeated for Victoria. A significant feature of the elections was tho defeat of the Ministers aftor lavish promises had been made in various cities of great public works to be undertaken if the Ministers were victorious. Sir Wilfrid Laurier is unwilling to load the Opposition in the new House, and his retirement is practically deciJod. There is great disappointment in the United States at tho result of tho election.
