Bodge states:—'Temperature in Bhade, maximum 60dcg., minimum 35deg., mean 47.5dcg.; earth radiation, 28.5deg., being 3.sdeg. frost; earth temperature (Ift. underneath), 50deg.; wind, fresb S.; weather, beautiful day after threo days' cold and storm. Hastings, September 22.—The southerly gale blew itself out during the night. Today was clear and Bnnny. Otaki, September 22.—Fine, but cloudy, with occasional bright sunshine; rainfall to 9 a.m. .015.
