Playing at the Wellington Club on Thursday ovening, H. W. Stevenson, the English champion, conceded one of tho mombors 400 poinU in a game of 800 up, and -won easily. Tho champion's best breaks were 210, 123,' and 126.. At tho conclusion of tho gamo Stevenson gave an exhibition of snooker and fancy shots. Stevenson has two engagements to fulfil ein Auckland. Ho leaves for the 'Queen City" this morning. . Eleven nominations were received for this year's Crystalato Cup, and from the whispers ono hears of tho improvements made by some of this year's competitors, records should bo left by tho waysido.
