Government aid has been sought to help tho movement along, and it is considered probable that the champion amateur sculler, Cecil M'Villy,' of Tasmania, will bo sent Our Own Wellington Season, Locally, rowing matters aro beginning to take shape, and tho formal opening of the season, under tho auspices of tho Wellington Rowing Association, is sjt down for next Saturday—the occasion to be marked by the usual programme of in tor-club races on the water, and tho entertainment by the clubs of members and their friends at the Boat-houso on the land. Meanwhile the Star Club is inviting entries for tho first of the season's racing events—senior and junior fours and novice pairs.
