ROYALTY IN THE AIR.
The Princess Henry of Prussia takes a . keen interest in the sports to which her husband is devoted, both motoring and aviation. When the Prince was learning Co fly at Griesfleim, near Darmstadt, on an Euler aeroplane she herself went' up 1 with flerr Enlor. Now she has made a, flight in England, and two other Princesses went up after her. This was at the Eoyal Aero Club's ground at Eastchurch, and "the men who nad the privilege of piloting them were tho naval aviators who have learnt to fly on these Britishmade Short biplanes tnat the flights were made. Lieut. Gregory took up Princess Henry of Prussia, Lieut. Sampson look lip Princc ■ Lonis of Battenberg, and Lieut. Longmore took up Princess Louise of Battenberg. -There is no - doubt that when once one has been up one wants to go again, for it is rare fco hear of anyone feeling norvous about it', while all speak of the exhilaration caused by getting free from t'he_ earth. The fascination grows also by indulgence, for a man ' who hus his pilot's certificate but lias not a machine of his own, told me that at times ho feels almost crazy to think that h9 cannot leave terra firma when he wishes. Perhaps this exhilaration may excuse to somo extent tho rash and foolhardy -thipgs that learners sometimes do, and by which they have lost their lives. •This was distinctly the case with Mme. Deniso Moore, a lady from Alberia, who .was learning to ily at Mourmclon. /She had been making excellent - progress, but one day over-coniidenco led her to disobey her instructor and sho tried to fly high. She had only reached an altitude of 150 ft. .when, possibly from a mistake in steoring, hor machine fell to the trround and the unfortunate lady was killed on the spot
