REVOLT IN SPAIN.
GENERAL STRIKE TO-DAY. TALK OF REVOLUTION BY THE PREMIER. STERN MEASURES THREATENED. By Telocraph-Press Association-Copyright ■(Keo. September 21, 11.30 p.m.) Madrid, September 21. The strike situation in the provinces is qnieter, but a complete stoppage of public services at the naval port of Ferrol is impending. Food is scarce, and a detachment of army corp3 is engaged in baking bread. A secret session of the- Workingmen's Association at Gijon has decided on a goncral strike. Among those arrested at Madrid aro caballeros, councillors-general, and tho vico-president of tho General Labour Union. ■ .
A quantity of arms has been seized, and all important buildings, including the residence of tho Papal Nuncio, are guarded.
The troops aro being kept in the barracks, and the Civil Guards ocjupy strategic points in the-city, in anticipation of a general strike to-day. ■ ■ The Government is disposed to recognise the strike, if it is legally conducted, and does not impede the public services. Otherwise stern measures will be takon, and the troops will uso their aims on the slightest sign of revolt. Tho Primo Minister, Senor Canalejas, lias announced that ho is determined to end, once for all, the throats of revolution. / A strict censorship -of telegrams ia being exercised. HUNDREDS OF ARRESTS. (Eec. September 21, 5.5 p.m.) Madrid, September 20. Three hundred arrests have been made in Madrid, and 158 at Barcelona. . The revolutionaries at Caroangente havo re-enacted the Aroila .but the military have restored order.
