When an extra assistant linesman is required to be encaged, his pay shall bo at tho rate of Is. 2Jd. per hour, this being .tho rate of wages of casual labourers. If such extra assistant linesman shall bo in the employ of the Department for three months, then lie shall rank H3 a "permanent" band (the onpaitonient in such caso to bo terminable by a week's notice on either side), and his wages shall be Is. Hd. per hour, with no broken time. I. Sunday Work.—When n man is on ordinary stand-by duty on Sundays, ho shall be paid time and a half, but whoa lie is specially called from his home for rminir work, he shall be paid double time. 5. Preference Clause.—A preference clause similar to the preference clause in the.Carpenters' Award to bo inserted, in the agreement.
