TO-DAY'S DINNER.
(Specially written for The Dominion.) THURSDAY. Maigre Soup. Mutton and Macaroni. Potatoes. Celery. Steamed Raisin Pudding. MAIGRE SOUP. Two quarts of water, 1 point of milk, ljlb. of potatoes, 2 leeks (or .1 large onion), 1, small turnip. 1 stalk celery, 1 small parsnip, loz. of butter, 1 tablespoonful pf llour, 1 teaspoonful of sugar. Salt to taste. Cut the vegetables up, and fry them in tlie butter. Add the water, and stew until soft. Pass through a sieve. Add (he (lour and milk, sprinkle the sugar over the vegetables when frying, but do not let them' colour. Weak stock, in which mutton or poultry have boon boiled instead of water, is an improvement, and the. addition of one gill of cream makes the soup much nicer. 1-OR TO-MORROW. Half-pint of lentils, stock, sclinapper, two dozen oysters, cauliflower, candied peel, raisins, spice, suet.
