COURTEN'AY' PLACE CONGREGATIONAL' SCHOOL. The thirtv-sixlh anniversary of the. Courtenav Place. Congregational Sunday School will be held on Sunday next, when special services wil| be held throughout the d?v. The morning service will be conducted bv the Rev. J. G. Chapman (cf the Tar.niiki Street Wesle.v Church). Airs. Blamires will address the afternoon meeting, and the evening service will be taken bv the I!ov. Ale.cdone.ld .Aspland. Tho annual report shows that under the guidance of Air. A\. G. Holdsworth. superintendent, tho Rev. Macdonald Aspland, president, and Air. G. Stephenson, secretary, (he •work has progressed very satisfactorily. At nrcsent there are liO scholars on the roll. Lewis and God' win the primary department of the school is doing good' work. A Band of Hope was formed in the course ot the past year and at present there is a membership of forty. Air. G. Stephenson is superintendent and Air. F. Miller treasurei and secretary. Appreciation is expressed of the manner in which the teachers of the Bible classes (Alessrs. T. E. Reynolds, J. C. Port and Aliss Ronaldson) carry out their work. Eight members of tlio Bible classes were received into the fellowship of the Church during tho year. Air. Reynolds not only looks after the young men's spiritual side, but also takes an- interest in their social welfare by taking part in tho various games. The highest number of marks for regular attendance, good conduct, and answers to questions- during the year, wcro gained by Aliss Helen Jean Forsyth. At this year's Sunday school examinations twelve scholars from the school entered and all gained prizes and certificates. The report makes mention of the great services rendered by Messrs. T. Forsyth and Thawley in training the children in anniversary music.
