OLD SOLDIERS' PENSIONS,
The annual meeting of.the. Wellington, branch of the Royal New Zealand Asso« ciatiou of His Majesty's Veterans took place at the Garrison Hall last evening. Mr, 11. Tingoy occupied tho chair, and, in his annual report, stated that ten members had died during the past year. Unless, he added, the Government granted them their pension very soon, there would bo none to receive it, as many had served over 50 years. They were tho pioneers who, by their deeds, had won New Zealand. Tho balance-sheet showed a credit of X 53 3s. 10d., with certificates on hand to the valuo of £2i 13s. , The following officers wore dec tod:— Vice-President, Mr. 11. Tingoy; secretary and treasurer, Mr. S. Stidolph; sergeantmajor, llr. W. Christie; trusteos, Mr. 11. Tiiigey and llov. D. C. 13atos; delegates to the New Zealand Association, Messrs, i'. \V, Itevell and W. Christie; auditor, : Mr. T. Bland; committee, Messrs. 11, Stephens. G. Purdy, \V. Christie, H, Brown, W. Birch, C. B.Fox, F. W. ; lievell, T. Bland, — Dougall, and — < M'Millan. '
