MISHAP TO THE NAIRNSHIRE.
CRANK-SHAFT BREAKS. l)y Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright (Rec. September 18, 9.20 p.m.) 1 Monte Video, September 18. The steamer Nairnshire lias arrived hero with her crank-shaft broken, and with only her low-prcssuro cylinder in use.
The Nairnshire left Auckland on August 19 for Avormouth, and is due at Avonmouth ou October 8. She is under the command of Captain C. Fordor, and has on board the following passengers ,—Mcsdamcs A. Miller, Batt, Messrs. J. Daley, P. Ransom, A. Taylor, .T. Ashcroft, C. S. Evans, D. Conn, \\ . M'Cnhon, J. Kem&lcy, H. Lampshiro, A. Earr, D. Dreig, J. W. Smith, J. Moroland. The cargo shipped ' at ' North ' Island ports was as follows:—Prom Wellington— 1551 .quarters beef, 2 carcasses mutton, 7 carcasscs lamb, 1 carcass pork, 210 bags beef, 92 bales hemp, 248 bales tow, i casks casings, 1384 eases mtots, 220 casks tallow, 20 sacks seed, 102 tons scrap iron. From Wnnganni—72l quarters beef, 14G3 carcasses mutton, 7 carcasses pork, 87 bags beef, 510 cases meats. Prom Auckland— 890 quarters beef, 49 bales rags, 128 bags fescue, 8 casks casings, 3 cases sundries.
