JOHNSONVILLE GAS LIGHTING.
Last Wednesday the Johusonvillo ratepavars were called upon to exercise tlieir vote as to whether the sum of .£3500 1)0 oxpJuded upon tho purchase of a Be Laitto gas-prodncing machine. Tho voto resulted in a overwhelming majority favouring tho proposal. This sneaks well for the'plant thus 1 favoured. Tho Do Lflilto gas machine is constructcrl so as to vapouriso spirits, such as benzoline, ctc., and by adding a largo percentage of air produce a gas which, whilo non-explosive, can bo utilised for lighting, heating, cooking, and even driving the ordinary gas engines. The gas so produced is noncxploaivp, because of the high percentage of air, usually in the region of 00 per cent, to 91 per cent. It can bo produced at as low a rati as 9s. per 1000 cubic foot for .lighting. The producer is simplicity itself.' It is at the present moment being used in the Old Land to supply gas to townships of 30,000 inhabitants, and is installed in over 6000 instances. It can bo used for small private residences, aud supply the baclc-blocks or suburban rcsi<l.ent with the comforts of a town dweller. It can bo supplied to operate by means of water power, weights, or electric accumulators, and is in itself a compaqt, automatic gas producer. The firm responsible for the installation 'througlufut I\ew 7/oaland is I?. Y. Atolls and Co., 8 Bouloott Street, Wellington, to whom application should bo made for further information.
