Amended regulations under tho Gold Mines Act, gazetted Inst ovening, state, with reference to minors' compensation for casualties, that temporary disablement (one week or more) through injury received while working will entitle tho miner to 12s. 6d. a week, or at tho rato of 2s. per day for every working day from tho date of the injury. A miner permanently disabled may bo granted a fixed sum not exceeding J!SO. In the event of a fatality the sum of ,ClO (maximum) may bo granted the nearest relative, towards tho funeral expenses, and an additional sum of £i» (maximum) to tho widow or other near relative in full satisfaction of all claims.
