September 11, 10.30 p.m.) Paris, 'September 11. .Lieutenant Cotard (sic) is tho'eightyfourth aviator and the twelfth French officer to bo killed during an' air flight. Ho had had only eight days' experience. Tho disaster was duo to his meeting a treacherous aerial current, and losing control of his machine. Ho was pinned beneath the wreckage when it fell. M. VEDRINES INJURED. Paris, September 13. M. Vedrines, the well-known aviator, who has recently put up some fine performances, fell while flying at Herioourt, and was seriously injured.

AMERICAN FLIGHTS. New York, September 13. An aviator named James Ward has started on a flight to San Francisco for a prize of .£IO,OOO. He is following the Brio railroad. Mr. Fowler, who'fell in the Sierras soon after starting out to fly across th 3 Continent, will continue his flight when a new macliino arrives. . GERMAN DIRIGIBLE ON FIRE. Berlin, September 13.
