. . SATURDAY'S MATCHES. THE A TEAM TO GO TO BLENHEIM. In accordance. with a promise made earlier in the season to tho Marlborough llugby Union, it was decided to send the A-.team to Blenheim to play against tho Marlborough representatives next Satur'day. Tho B team will play against Wairarapa at Athletic Park. Tho team for the southern tour will probably be selected before the end of tho present weefc. WEDNESDAY CHAMPIONSHIP. The Wednesday Rugby 'championship was concluded yesterday, when Athletic mot and defeated Tramways by 14 points to 6. Mr. .W. F. Hornig was referee. Had Tramways been victorious yesterday, it would have necessitated a play off" with Artillery. As the match resul'ted in a win for Athletic, however,' tho championship has now been wou by the Artillery Club. . ' . • • WELLINGTON RUGBY UNION. A meeting of the Management Committee of the Wellington Rugby 'Union was hold last night. There were present: Messrs. S. Brown (chairman), W. Pen , }', J. Burns, A. B. Wilson, W. F. Hornig, E, Little, W. Hardham, E. O. Hales, J. Sweeney, and W. J. Talbot (secretary). Tho VVellington Football Association wroto asking for .the usq of Athletic Park on September 30 on tho occasion of tho playing of the Senior Charity Cup final. —It was decided to reply that the union was at present negotiating for a match on that date between Wellington rcpre- , 6ontatives and a combined HorowhonuaManawatu team. • Mr. F.'T. Evans was appointed to Teferee the Wellington-Canterbury match at Christchurch on September 23. Arrangements have been made .for the Wellington team to stay at the City Hotel. ■ Mr. A. Fcnton, of Napier, has been appointed caretaker and groundsman at Athletic Park. It was decided to grant the use of the Athletic Park for a match, Police v. Press, on September 23. . Permission was granted.to tho Southern Club.to send a team to Picton on September 23 to play against the Waitohi Club.
