SCHOOLBOYS' STRIKE.
WIDESPREAD OUTBREAKS. MORE HOLIDAYS AND NO CANE By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright Eec. September 13, 10.20 p.m.) London, September 13 Schoolboy strikes continuo at Ashfcon-undc-r-Lyne, Grimsby, Bradford, Sheffield, Hull, and Leith. Hundreds of children are parading tho streets proclaiming their demands for less work anil less cane. The strikers at Hull stoned tlio teachers and marched to tho school armed with broomsticks, intimidating the noustrikcrs. There aro some strikers at Salford, but tho movemont at Manchester has collapsed, and the truants hayo been caned. Disturbances have occurred at Hoxton, Islington, Enfield, Tottenham, Fnlham, Clerkenwell, Kentish Toivn, and Stepney. Tho strikers held meetings on the streets, and marched in procession carrying cardboard banners inscribed, "No cane" and "More holidays during the hot weather." Crowds of mothers assembled at a number of tho school doors at closing time to take tho strikers home. *' London, September 12. The prcsenco of policemen at tho Shoreditch and Islington Schools prevented a renewal of tho scholars' strike.
