Vendetta between the Post and Telegraph men'of Auckland and "Wellington was settled at Newtown Park yesterday, and Auckland returns homo with the 6calp of its adversary dangling from its bolt. The Auckland men' romped over Wellington, and won easily by 13 points to 3. It was not pretty weather either from a spectator's or a player's point of view, for a stiff northerly,' with occasional showers; blew- across the ground, and chilled the few enthusiasts who had. v turned out. It also made tho ball an un"oertain sort of thing to handle. Gener-' ally speaking, tho Auckland fifteen were superior 'to the local men in almost every, respect, and the game had not long pro--gressed when it was evident that Wellington had not a millimetre of chance. Trios were obtained for Auckland by Sullivan, B. O'Brien,' and Little, and O'Brien converted twice. Marshall kicked a penalty goal for Wellington. /'•■ Mr. Simpson was in charge of • the game.
