HIS SCHOOL DAYS BEGIN. By Telegraph—Press Association-Oopyrishl Pekin, September 11. The Emperor of China, P'u-ji, who is now five and a half years old, began his education on Sunday. All the schools in the Empire had holiday processions, and tho streets were betlagged.

The present Emperor of China was born in February, 1900, and succeeded his uncle, the Emperor Kwang-Hsu, on November 14, 1903. He was nominated to the succession by the Empress Dowager a few hours before her death, which occurred the day after the death of the Emperor Kwang-Hsu. The ju* Emperor takes the reign name of HsuanTun". His father Prince Chun is the Regent of the Empire.
