THE MANAWATU SHOW
Once again the Manawatu Show begins to loom large in the eye of the public. The three days' carnival constitutes an important break in the monotony of toil amongst North Island settlers, and in particular those of the Wellington, Manavratu. and West Coast, districts. The committee has again risen to the occasion, and, with its customary liberality, is giving large, monetary prizes. A glance at the advertisement shows the comprehensive nature of the show, comprising as it does all classes of blood stock in horses, cattle, sheep, pigs, and dogs. Many old (but always popular) and new field competitions, divisions for public, technical, and art schools, photography, and homo industries. • All these, together with the side-shows, variety entertainments, exhibitions of implements, machinery, and all farmers' supplies, give the settler an opportunity to krep abreast of the times by making his comparisons and judging the goods on exhibition for himself. Special railway arrangements are always made for this event, and as Palmerston North's hotel accommodation is always tated at this time, it is as well to book ahead a little. The secretary (Mr. SV. T. Penny) states; that schedules will bo sent free on application to him, also that copies can be had from all kindred associalions.
