Tho liner should have left on August 19, but was delayed by tho strikes. Instead of arriving at Wellington on October 3, her schedule date, tho vessel will not now rcach here until October 22. MATATUA ARRIVES AT LONDON. Word received by the local agents for the Shaw, Savill and Albion Co. is to the effectthat tho llatatua, which left Auckland on July 25 for London, arrived at her destination on Friday moraine, September 8. MANUKA LEAVES SYDNEY. Leaving Sydney for Wellington direct at noon on Saturday, tho Union Company's steamer Manuka should arrivo in port early to-morrow morning. She has 200 passengers on board for all ports. NEW STEAMER KANNA ARRIVES. On her maiden trio to Wellington and New Zealand, tho Union Company's steamer Kanna arrived in port from Bunbury, via Duncdin, yesterday. Tho vessel was launched at Leith last April. Sho is a steel-screw steamer of 2000 tons gross register, and was built to meet the highest requirements ol Lloyd's Register, with single deck, deep frames, poop bridge, and topgallant forecastle. Captain and officers havo accommodation amidships, tho firemen are quartered aft, and tho dock hands forward, each boing fitted with mcssroom and baths. Sho carries eight oi tho latest typo of cargo winches, a steam windlass forward, and a steam warping winch on tho poop, and is fitted with steam and hand-steering of tho latest typo. Thorn is also a completo electric light equipment throughout the sliip, which is propelled by triplc-oxpansioii engines having 21in., 34in. and S6in. in diameter with a 36iu. stroke, supplied with steam from two large steel boilers working at 16Mb.' pressure, giving fully 1300 indicated horsc-powcr. During her official trial on the Firth of Forth tho Kanna covered . tho measured mile at a speed of 12 knots an hour. Captain Morley brings tho following officers:—Mr. 0. On Wednesday Kanna leaves Wellington for Greymouth, where she loads timber for Melbourne and Adelaide. , Captain Nelson, of the Ruru, has como ashoro owing to ill-health. His place has been taken by Captain Potcrion, of the Fanny. Mr. Rutter, late third officer of tho Pateena, has joined tho Atua in a similar capacity, in succession to Mr. F. 11. Lawrence, who is to join tho Navua as second. Mr. Andrews, Eccond officer of the Kanna. went ashoro at Duncdin for orders, and Mr. M'Keuzie, 6ccond of the Kurow, took his place. It is anticipated that tho Ka.ramea will get away from Wellington for Lyttclton this afternoon. ■ f Mr. W. Jarvis, third officer of tho Haupiri, came ashoro at Wellington yesterday, to join 'tho Waipori at Napier. Mr, O'llara relieved him. The Tainui should be ready to leave port for Lyttclton to-day. Hinemoa. Government steamer, finished overhauling the buoys in'Akaroa Harbour yesterday, and afterwards left for Moeraki and Duncdin. Tho Tyscr chartered steamer Capo Ortegal continues her journey from New.York to Lyttclton to-day. Sho leaves this port at 3 p.m. About noon to-day the Breezo is due at Wellington from Wanganui. She. sails for Pieton and southern ports to-morrow. The Ilolmdalo is now at Lyttclton. Last night the Ennerdalo left Greymouth for Westport, where sho bunkers before proceeding to Hobart with timber. Duo at Wellington from Auckland on September 18. the New Zealand Shipping Co.'s Ii.M.S. Ruapehu leaves for London, via way ports, on September 21. On Thursday, tho Rimutaka, should arrivo at Wellington from London, via Auckland. After discharging the Wellington portion of her cargo, sho loads part, cargo hero and proceeds thence to Port Chalmers. Yesterday morning, the Ripple went im on the Patent Slip for overhaul. This is expected to be completed by Thursday. On that day the Putiki will bo taken up on the Slip for tho same purpose. Arnhura, s.s., arrived at Greymouth from Wellington, via way ports, at noon yesterday, and was to have left on tho return trip at 10 p.m. At noon to-day, tho Rosamond leaves Wellington for New Plymouth, and Onchunga. Sho was to have left last evening. but shortage of labour on the wharves prevented her doing so. On Thursday, the Haupiri is expected to a,Trivo back at Wellington from Greymouth. She sails on the f-nmo day for Auckland, via East Coast ports and bays. The Pukaki leaves Westnort at 9 p.m. to-day for Duncdin. Upon completion of dischargo of her Newcastle coal at Duncdin, tho Union Company's chartered steamer Skogstad returns to tho New South Wales coal port. An arrival in port this afternoon will be the Scales chartered steamer Clan Ross, from Bunbury, via Lyttclton. The vessel lands GO3.CCO feet or ja.rrah timber here before proceeding to Auckland, where the remainder (KO.OCO feet) will be put out.
