THE SECRETARY SHIP. The recently-formed Sports League of New Zealand came into existence, some few weeks ago, and called for applications for a paid secretary after tho conference held in Wellington. . Tho substantial salary of JESOO a year was offered—a sura sufficiently large to induce applications from all parts of the Dominion. Sinca September 1, when the applications closed, . Messrs. H. D. Bell and tho Htm. Dr. Collins, the only two members of tho committee at present in < Now. % Zealand, have gouo through the list,'and'havo sorted them down to six. These six are to be interviewed forthwith by tho committee, and. a decision will be arrived at later. - '
