Somo time ago two petitions wore put in to the Government by certain outlying residents of Wangaiiui East, each parly praying- that their respective areas bo cut' off from the sub-borough. A Coinmission, which was appointed to inquire into the matter, has reported that one of the areas should not be cut oil'. Uegarding the other areas lying north of tho railway lino and adjacent to tho.river, tho Commission recommtnds a poll of ratepayers to say whether tho petition should be'granted. , „,,,., Mr. G. Ingram, organiser of the Labour parly's unity campaign, who has been spending several days in Wanganui, leavrs on Monday for Palmerstoii ami Wellington.
