SICK SAILOE GIVEN IN .CHARGE. (By Telecraph.—Press Association.) Timaru, September 9. '' Frauds Lynch, a fireman on the Indralema, was charged before Mr. Day, S.M., with refusing- duty on tlio trip from Wanganui to Timaru. He put in a pica of sickness. A sliipmato supported this, and accused's appearance justified the pica. The gaol-keeper said ,tho man was ill, and a doctor, who was called in, diagnosed the case as recent bronchitis with .a sorethroat. The doctor said the man's occupation as a fireman would aggravate the trouble. The defendant produced a bundle of clean discharges covering eighteen years. Mr. Day said the case was dismissed.
