MAGISTRATE'S COURT.
(Before Mr. W. G. Riddell, S.M.) Robert Long was charged with stealing .£1 from Joseph T. Caldwell and J;5 from Richard Caldwell. Ho was remanded till September 16, and bail (.£-10) was allowed. William J. Dwano, who was charged with an act of indecency, was remanded till September IG, and bail (,£SO) was allowed. Mr. Kirkcaldio represented the accused. Andrew Scmb was accused of having obtained monev by means of a valueless cheque. Detective MTlveney asked for a remand to Christchurch, and this was granted. ____________
