The Coronation Bazaar. The Y.M.C.A. is very fortunate in possessing such an exceedingly useful. ally as tho Ladies' Auxiliary to assist them in raising sums of money when necessary. Most associations have to rely upon their own efforts, and, only too often, have to go without many of the pleasant little luxuries which help to make life endurable. Such, however, is not the case with the Y.M.C.A., as tho most casual is sufficient to show. How valuable the assistance of women is wasshown by tha success, of tho Coronation Bazaar organised by tho Ladies' Auxiliary of _ tho association, and op'ji'.cd yesterday afternoon by'Ladv Islington, who was accompanied by Miss Stapleton Cotton and Captain M'Dougall. 'The large reception ball was most attractively arranged with numbers of stalls, most of them decoratcd with patriotic drapiugs and covered with very desirable articles, useful, ornamental, ami otherwise. Tea was served in hvo rooms upstairs, and also in. part of the large hall downstairs, the tables being prettily decorated with spring flowers, the ono .-et aside fox/Lady Islington awl her nartj being arranged with violets to match the bouquet given her by Miss ICileen Foset.te. During the afternoon musical items wero contributed by Mrs. Cording, Miss Lewis, Miss Crengel, and Miss Lindberg. Upon her arrival, Lady Islingun was receju-d by llr. H. N. Holmes and Mr. Brown, and by them presented to membors of tho Ladies' Auxiliary, after which, in a speech dealing with the work of tho association, the bazaar was declared open. In the- evening an entertainincnf .cbn:sisfing of tableaux. arranged by Miss Youmans and selections by the AVesleyau Orchestra was given. The bazaar is again open to-day, and visitors should not fail to visit the curio stall, which is especially interesting. Convalescent Home Report. A meeting of tho Convalescent ITomo I Trustees was held at Mrs. Litchfield's on Wednesday, September C, Mrs. Newman occupying tho chair. There were also present Mestlames Litchfield, West-Ivnowles, Martin, Barron (treasurer), Miss Coates, and Miss E.. Nathan (secretary). Tho mstron reported that seventeen "eases had fc«n admitted to the homo during the month, and fourteen discharged. Gifts w»ro acknowledged from Mr. C. Turroll and "K Friend." A Welcome. A very pleasant time was spent with music, recitations, readings, and the enacting of a little play callcd "Moro Man," those contributing to the programme being Miss Valeric Corliss, Miss Barba-a Putnam, Miss Wells, Miss Jameson, and Mrs. Begg. The guests of the evening wero met downstairs by Miss Cleghorn and .Miss ShirtolifFe, and wire received upstairs by Mrs. Corliss, the president of the "Our Girls" Branch, who wore a of emerald satin, with a tunic of black ninon. Lady Ward was in a frock of sjnphire c.harmeuse, with an overdrew, of hinon and Oriental embroidery. Ronnd her neck she wore n rope of pearls and diamond ornament. Lady Findlav wa» in' cream satin, with an overdress of grey sequinned ninon, with touches of . pale blue. Several members of tho Victoria League were present, including Miss Richmond, Mrs. Field. Miss Coates, Mrs. Chatfield, Mrs. Hankine Brown, and others. Slipper brought an enjoyable evening to a . close. Balance-sheet of Poster Ball. Halliday gave an enjoyablo bridge party in honour of Miss Bishop, who has been staying with her. There wero unusually I'.lgn scores, several players being very close,.but Mrs. Miles proved the lucky winner. Last week the representatives of tho Feilding Golf Club journeyed to Kimbolton. Obituary, Mrs. Matilda Sophia Bocro, ivife of Captain G. Ji. Bcere, who died at Devonport Inst week, was an old colonist of New Zealand. She arrived from England in 180:!, and after the Maori war syclit to tho Waikato and settled with her husband, who was then engaged in farming. In 1881 thej went to Auckland and took up their .residence nt Devonport, where deceased has resided ever since.
