Some five hours later than expected, tho Union Company's steamer Warrimoo arrived nt Wellington from Sydney at 4 n.lll. yesterday. The delay is said to have been caused by the lircmcn refusing to work in a satisfactory manner. Tho steadier left Sydney at noon 011 Saturday, and experienced modern to light winds and smooth teas throughout the passage. It is now announced that the F.-IT.-R. steamer Ayrshire loft Liverpool for Wellington oil September 2, not October 26 as originally stated. The vessel is duo here oil or about November 6. The Pnkaki left. Westport for Wellington last evening, and tlio Kamona is to lcavo this morning. En route from Calcutta to Wellington tho Union Company's steamer Aparima left Auckland I.xst evening. On lier arrival at Wellington from Gisborne on Sunday tho Ripple will be laid up for annual overhaul. The service between Wellington. Na,pier, and Gisborno will bo taken up by the Kahu and Ruru. Mr. W. Naithsmith, second engineer of the Corimin, signed off tho vessel yesterday at Wellington. Mr. W. Bridcen, male of the steamer Queen of the South, who has been nshoro on sick leave, re.ioined his vessel yesterday. Mr,. A. Woodnutt, who has been relieving him, came ashore. At 8.30 a.m. to-day the Hinemo'a leaves Wellington on her periodical visit to the southern lighthouses. Tahiti, s.s., the steamer bought by the TTnion Company from tho Imperial Direct West India Mail Sorrier Company, is to leave the Clyde on October 5. and Plymouth oil October 7, for Sydney direct. She is duo at Sydney about November 15. Captain Woebling takes cbaree of the Petone in place of Captain N. Wood, who transfers to tho Breeze. After having been bar-bound at Greymouth for several dnvs the Poherita and Ngatoro left for Wellington yesterday morning. They'should arrive in port ahout U a.m. to-day.
