Owing to the sharp riso in sugar prices insurances have been effected on tho increased values on numerous cargoes afloat from Java, Cuba, and Porto Rico. Those from Java are also insured against war risk at' from two" shillings to half a crown per cent. Large insurances have been similarly effected on beet shipments from Germany and Baltic ports. :
