NO OFFICIAL INFORMATION. Mi. .Mine, M.P. for Stratford, asked the Minister for Public Works yesterday afternoon for information as to a strike of men ensnxe-d on public, works in t'u. Tarnnaki district. Ho said that neec.vding to the 'J'aranaki papers 1(10 to ISO nv], were on strike, and a settlement was nlKcted (n be arranged eilhe.v on Moii'Uiv or ycslfi-day. ' The Hon. ]J. M'Kenzii' said he. had u'-t heard anything officially about the matter, lie'did not hold liimself rosponsHjle for what oppeared iu the Tarauaki papa's.
