« WAIRARAPA HUNT CLUB. . Only a handful of people were at Clareville■ yesterday to witness the spcrt provided by tho Wairarapa Hunt Club. Tho fields were small, and there was a general air of listiessness about the meeting which does not augur well for the future of the club. Though the fields were small in the jumping events, this was not tho case in the Hack Kaee, in which ten runners faced tho starter. There were not enough riders available in this event, and sevc-ral special licenses had to be issued. As secretary, Mr. L. James did not have a very arduous time of it, but tho events wero got (.ft promptly to time, and, by 4 p.m., (he meeting had concluded. Tlie polico were present in some force at the meeting, but their services wero not required. The following arc the results :— HUNTERS' HANDICAP HURDLES, of 10 sovs. One mile and a half. Mr. Jas.
