EX-SHAH'S REVOLT.
MORE TROOPS DISARMED. By Telegraph—Press Association— Copyright Teheran, August 30. A body of the ex-Shah's cavalry at Savadkuli entered the Government camp on tho pretext of making overtures for peace. They were suspected of treachery and disarmed during the night-time. Four hundred rifles were seized and the leaders arrested. RUSSIAN COLLUSION ALLEGED. The "Vossischo Zeitung" of Berlin believes that Mohamed Ali's return to Persia has been directly tolerated, if not actually ciicotiraged, by the Russian Government. The paper points out that the ex-Shah could hardly cross Russia without the knowledge of tho authorities; neither could ho have conducted his intrigues in Baku and prepared to cross tho Caspian without Petersburg being' fully cognisant. Moreover, in his present enterprise, Mohamed Ali risks practically his solo remaining means of livelihood, namely, his guaranteed'annual pension of a hundred thousand tomans, which, according to tho protocol of 1909, ceases as soon as the British and Russian representatives in Persia arc convinced that Mohamed Ali is. plotting .against the new regime. "Since he now sacrifies this money," it says, "and has practically nothing remaining from his former finances, Mohamed' Ali must not only have other temporary financial resources, but must also Jiavo reasonable, security that his plan "will not miscarry. Such security can only be given by Russia, and possibly also by' England. It is obviously no mere accident that Persia at ■ this moment is drawn into the diplomatic confusion. Morocco and Persia, a knotted band, runs from West to East; Russia and England arc preparing to loosen the Eastern knot."
