ST. JAMES'S CHURCH

Thn annual meeting of St. James' Presbyterian Church- was held last evening, when the report, a precis of which has been published, was adopted, on tho motion ,of Mr. Davidson, session clerk. An appeal on behalf of the weekly prayer meeting was mado by Mr. Crawford, and Mr. Dagger spoke in connection with tho work of the Sunday school and the field for teachers. A members' visiting committee is being organised, also a visiting brigade in connection with the work of tho Sunday. School. Messrs. Lewis and Chappie- spoke in reference to the work amongst the young people, and tho Endeavour Society respectively, and an interesting statement in connect ion with the senior cadets was made by Mr. Johnson. Work at Island Bay was the subject of a report by tho Rev. W. Shiror. Votes of thanks wero given to the Women's Missionary Society, the Dorcas Society, the Ladies' Sewing Bee, Mr. MTherson, treasurer, and Mr. A. Campbell for services rendered in connection with tho new schoolroom. During the evening musical items wero given by Miss Gribble, Misses Carrath, and Watkins, and an anthem was given by the choir.
