CENTRAL MISSION.
Tho annual conrers.iziono of tlio Wellington Central Mission was held in Herbert Street Hall last night, the Rev. E. 0. Blamirce occupying the chair. An address oro the practical application of Christian teaching was , delivered by tho Kcv. C. PL Oltk, and Messrs. Frederic Oakley,, Georgo Cooper, , the Hisses Fathers and Chappie, and Mrs. Free items in the programme, and, in addition, there was a selection by the Central Mission Band. Tho reports from the various organisations of the Mission were very satisfactory, showing signs of general prosperity. Mr. .T. \Y. Cookridge, circuit steward, referred to Ihc change of building as boire; boueflcial to dm work. The band secretary (Mr. 11. 1 , . Wo«ton) reported a record year in tho band. Clone on 300 nppcarajicos of llic band liad been tabulated, and financially tho year had been a most successful one. one result being the- entire removal of this debt on the instrument?. Mr. J. licwis reported tho Brotherhood to te flourishing, in the groat promise of vigorous work in tho near future. The appeal for a "sislor of the pcoplo" was meeting with support, close on .EGO of tho required .£IOO per annum being in sight. Olher reports wf.ro given from (he Juvenile Temple, the trust, and the Sunday school. The proceedings ended with tho dispensing of refreshments. The concluding meetings of these tenth anniversary celebrations will lake place on Sunday next in Herbert Street Hall and the New Theatre, the assistance of the Hon. Geo. Fowlds nnd Messrs. l'oole and I-aurenson, M.P.'s. have been promised.
