MASTERTON SEAT.
' ADDRESS BY ME. A. H. HERBERT. (By Telejtraph.—Special Correspondent.) Masterjon, August 30. Mr. A. H. Herbert, one of the candidates for the Masterton seat, addressed a well-attended meeting in the Mastorton Town Hall to-night. The chair was'occupied by Mr. C. E. Dauiell. The , candidate Vi mMo Another 1 ''vigorous criticism' of the borrowing and financial operations of the Government, and made, pointed reference to the failure to acquire land for 'settlement in this district,' and to the mismanagement of tho railways. He was'frequently applauded, and was accorded a hearty vote of thanks on the motion of the chairman.
